Undertaken as part of the team’s continuing professional development (CPD), it includes work across communication and people skills, along with team working modules.

Four managers in the team also completed all the training courses available with the BVRA and received the Intermediate Award.

Representatives from Garston’s parent company Linnaeus and the BVRA, along with its sponsor Boehringer Ingelheim, visited the practice for a celebratory lunch to hand out the awards.

Practice manager Sarah Holmes said: “We are proud that so many of our wonderful team members have achieved this award, which demonstrates their dedication to providing quality care for pets and exceptional service for clients.

“Pets are incredibly important to us, and so are their owners. We want to ensure our reception team has the best possible training to support local pet owners with considerate and efficient care.”

Linnaeus provides BVRA membership to all its client care team members, with nearly 300 associates receiving awards so far.

Linnaeus customer experience manager Kathryn Whitehouse said: “Congratulations to the Garston team for this incredible achievement.

“A special thank you to head of region Penny Fox, practice manager Sarah Holmes and client care manager Ali Brown for their leadership and focus on driving a positive and inclusive culture in Garston’s team.”

Kay Watson-Bray, CEO of BVRA said: “The BVRA is committed to supporting the role of veterinary receptionists through training, education and development. Our membership opens the door to a comprehensive CPD pathway, including our Foundation Course, ensuring receptionists have the resources they need to grow and excel.”
