RCVS Accredited Practice

RCVS Accredited Small Animal Hospital

Garston Vets has been established for more than 100 years, and over that time we have developed and expanded to provide the wide range of services and expertise we can now offer today.

We are an RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons) Accredited Practice in all the areas of veterinary healthcare that the practice provides.

Due to our additional facilities that allow us to investigate and treat more complex cases, we have been awarded the highest status of Small Animal Hospital.

How we support our RCVS Accreditation:

Continuing professional development –  All of our staff are encouraged to constantly update their veterinary knowledge. Our Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary Nurses have a professional commitment to additional study which is closely monitored as part of our RCVS accreditation. This ensures clients always get up-to-date advice and their animals get the best clinical care possible.

Investment in equipment – A modern veterinary practice needs a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to enable our vets and nurses to carry out veterinary procedures to the highest standards. We are constantly ensuring our surgeries are fully equipped and have everything they need for modern day practice.

Convenient opening times & weekend appointments – During the week our surgeries are typically open from 8:00am until 6:30 or 7:00pm. We have consultations available by appointment at most times of the day to suit you, and clients can drop in at any time during our working day to collect supplies and ask for advice. All of our surgeries are open on Saturdays with a full out of hours emergency service at all other times. See our opening times.

Centralised clinical records – We have invested heavily in a computerised management system that allows us to book appointments and access your pet’s clinical notes and history at whichever practice you attend.

Our own Emergency Cover – If your animal becomes ill outside of normal hours and needs to be seen, then our own vets will always be available, with full access to your pet’s clinical records. We do not use other vets to provide out of hours cover and we always respond to your calls personally.

Ease of parking and disabled access – Each veterinary practice has parking either in our own free customer car park or close by for your comfort and convenience. Our surgery reception areas and consulting rooms have been modified where possible to accommodate the needs of all our clients. These areas are spacious with ramp access and we are always happy to help in any way possible.

Friendly service – We understand that sometimes you may be very worried or upset, and need our support. Our friendly team will endeavour to do everything they can to make your visit to us as easy as possible.
