Gavin Davis

Gavin worked as a herdsman on a local dairy farm for 16 years, after which he spent 4 years relief milking.  He returned to a herdsman role for a robotic herd before joining the Garston farm team in July 2021 and completing his training to become an Approved TB Tester.  He is married to Liz and they have 4 children. In his spare time he keeps his own cattle and chickens.

Emma Whitley BVM BVS BVMedSci MRCVS

Originally from Sweden, but grew up in Frome, Emma worked as a Kennel Assistant for Garston Veterinary Group before going to the University of Nottingham and graduating in 2021. She enjoys all aspects of small animal work. Outside of work her interests include playing lacrosse, fitness and walking the family dog in the countryside.

Kate Saunders BVetMed(hons) MRCVS (Cat Advocate)

Kate graduated in 2014 from the Royal Veterinary College and worked for Garston from then until 2017. She has spent the last 3 years working in some of the busiest hospitals in London, before managing to persuade her fiancé to move back to the West Country in January 2021 to re-join the Garston team. Kate enjoys all aspects of small animal work, with a particular love of surgery. Kate lives locally with her partner and two rescue cats. Outside of work she likes yoga, reading, exploring the countryside and going to see live music.

Emily Nail BVSc MSc MRCVS

Emily graduated from the University of Bristol in 2016 and joined Garston Farm Vets in January 2017. Emily is involved in all aspects of farm animal veterinary care from dairy fertility routines to supporting smallholders, and is particularly interested in youngstock health and performance. She teaches our lambing, farm skills, and antibiotics awareness courses. Outside of work, Emily still spends most of her time outdoors, wild camping and climbing mountains with her terrier, Fig.

Alex Roberts BVSc CertAVP MRCVS

Alex graduated from the University of Bristol in 2015 and has been working at the practice ever since. He has a particular interest in Bovine Mastitis prevention and nutrition, and is our Beef Benchmarking and BVD control coordinator. Alex has completed a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice, in Bovine Health and Productivity. At some point you will no doubt meet his lively springer spaniel, Rhu, who accompanies him in the car. Outside of work, Alex enjoys the outdoors and a variety of sports, and is a keen Bath rugby fan.

Georgina Doel BVetMed MRCVS

Georgina qualified from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), London and following a spell working as a farm vet in Cornwall, she joined the farm team at Garston in 2011. As well as being a vet, George has also taken on the role of Farm Clinical Coordinator and helps to develop and market new and proactive services, building on the close relationship we have with our clients and forming new ones with industry leaders. George enjoys all aspects of farm work and has a particular interest in calves, working closely with Emily as our “youngstock experts”. George is married to a local farmer, has three young children and loves a good game of hockey at the weekend.

Matthew Pack BVSc PGDip VCP MRCVS

Originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, Matt graduated from Bristol University in 2015. He worked in Cardiff first as a mixed then small animal Vet before completing an internship at Langford Vet Hospital. He has a keen interest in small animal internal medicine and imaging. Outside of work he enjoys exploring the outdoors with his dogs.

Alec Brotherton-Brown BVetMed MRCVS

Alec qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2013 and after a period in mixed practice in Lincolnshire, he moved to South Wales to focus on small animal practice. Alec then spent some time locuming around the UK and undertaking charity work abroad to further his skills, followed by working in a large hospital practice in Gloucester for three years, before joining Garston Vets. Alec enjoys the variety of small animal practice but particularly enjoys medicine and oncology. Outside of work, he enjoys watching rugby, travel, and exploring the countryside.

Neil Sandercock BVSc GPCert(SAS) MRCVS

Neil graduated from the University of Bristol in 2011, and spent two years in mixed practice in Devon. He worked for a small animal charity hospital in Cardiff for six years, before moving to Wiltshire and joining Garston Vets in December 2019. Neil enjoys all aspects of small animal work, but his main focus within the practice is orthopaedic surgery. He completed his General Practitioner Certificate in small animal surgery in 2023 and will continue to develop his skills whilst mentoring other members of the practice. He lives locally with his partner, two daughters and three cats. Outside of work, Neil enjoys DIY and spending time exploring the countryside with his family.

Cerys Nutt MA VetMB PGCertSAS MRCVS (Cat Advocate)

Cerys qualified from the University of Cambridge in 2016 and spent a year in mixed practice in Herefordshire before joining Garston Vets in January 2018. In 2021, Cerys became the lead vet of our Trowbridge surgery and attained her Postgraduate Certificate in small animal surgery in 2022. She is often called upon to provide this level of expertise to more complex soft tissue surgical cases. In her spare time Cerys enjoys reading, cooking, watching Wales play rugby and trying to see the sea!
