Pre-purchase examinations and advice
Garston Vets’ experienced equine veterinary team can help you with vettings and practical advice before you purchase.
Purchasing a new horse can be a daunting decision. Is the animal fit and healthy? Do they have any underlying health problems that could affect their wellbeing or performance? Are they suited to their intended new purpose with you?
A horse vetting, or pre-purchase examination, is a thorough assessment of the animal which follows RCVS guidelines, and after which we can provide the best practical advice on whether the horse is fit for purchase and suitable for your specific needs.

We are also able to do additional procedures as requested, such as x-rays and endoscopy as part of the vetting.
