Meet the Warminster Vets

Julian Porter BVetMed MRCVS

Small Animal Partner

Julian graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1984. After a period of four years in mixed practice in the Midlands he moved to Frome. At this time he specialised in companion animal practice. After a gap year out of practice in 1990 he returned to Garston Veterinary Group. He became a partner in 1996 and is now responsible for the companion animal side of the practice in Warminster. His area of special interest is orthopaedics and outside of work he enjoys doing lighting and sound for theatrical productions as well as the occasional acting role on stage.

Dr. Andy Woodward B.Vet.Med. MANZCVS (Medicine of Cats) MRCVS

Small Animal Partner

Andy qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1994 and toiled through his first 3 years as a new graduate here at Garston Vets before deciding to head off ‘downunder’ - to New Zealand initially, followed by 18 years in bayside Melbourne, Australia. His antipodean trip turned full circle when he returned to work full time at GVG in July 2017.

During his time in Melbourne Andy focused his attention on domestic animal work, and gained Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in the medicine of cats - a post graduate qualification encouraged & recognised by the UK based "International Society of Feline Medicine" for entry into the ISFM Academy of Feline Practitioners. Although Andy obviously loves his cats, he also has a keen interest in all aspects of canine medicine, and having bred rabbits as a hobby as a teenager he still has a soft spot for bunnies!

Neil Sandercock BVSc MRCVS

Neil graduated from the University of Bristol in 2011, and spent 2 years in mixed practice in Devon.  He worked for a small animal charity hospital in Cardiff for 6 years, before moving to Wiltshire and joining Garston in December 2019.  Neil enjoys all aspects of small animal work, with a focus on orthopaedic surgery.  Neil lives locally with his partner, two daughters and three cats.  Outside of work he enjoys DIY and spending time exploring the countryside with his family.
