Andrew Simmons BVetMed MRCVS

Small Animal Partner

Andrew qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London in 1988. He worked in mixed practice in Cornwall for four years, then moved to the then Glenleigh Veterinary Practice. Andrew became a partner in the practice in 1997. When the practice merged with Garston Veterinary Group, Andrew was able to devote all of his clinical time to small animal practice. He divides his time between clinical work, and running the Trowbridge surgery and has a special interest in dermatology. Andrew is married with two children and a labrador called Tilly. In his spare time he enjoys running, cycling and kayaking as well as reading and going to the cinema.

Nick Hill BVSc MRCVS

Small Animal Partner

Vanessa Lucas BVM&S MRCVS

Vanessa qualified from The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, Edindurgh, in 1999. She worked in mixed practice in Shrewsbury for 2 years before joining Garston Veterinary Group in 2001. Her interests are general medicine and surgery in small animals. She works part-time to look after her family, including dog and cat. In her spare time she enjoys running.

Vikki Arnold BvetMed MRCVS

Vikki graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2008 and has been working in small animal practice since then. She joined Garston Vets in August 2011 and enjoys all aspects of medicine and surgery. In her free time she looks after her horse Yorkie who is a Connemara X and her cat Panda.

Rachel Major BVSc MRCVS

Rachel qualified from University of Liverpool in July 2016 and has returned home to the South West. She is interested in all aspects of small animal practice, especially internal medicine. Outside of work Rachel enjoys going to live music events and exploring the countryside.

Alice Moore BA VetMB MRCVS

Alice qualified from Cambridge University in 2015 and spent her first year in practice working at a small animal hospital in Swindon. After completing her graduate programme she spent several months travelling and volunteering in Asia before joining the Garston team in April 2017. Alice is interested in all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery, but particularly enjoys the challenges of emergency and critical care. In her free time Alice enjoys music, yoga and exploring the countryside with her New Forest Pony Whisky.

Hannah Staniforth BSc BVSc MRCVS

Hannah graduated from the University of Bristol Vet School in the summer of 2018, she was keen to stay local to Bristol and her home town of Stroud, Gloucestershire whilst exploring the Wiltshire and Somerset area. Prior to studying veterinary Hannah gained a degree in Biology from the University of Sussex. She decided to peruse her dream of veterinary medicine following a biology expedition to the Amazon rainforest working with vets rehabilitating trafficked animals. Hannah enjoys the fast pace of small animal veterinary medicine, in particular surgical cases. In her spare time she enjoys running, kayaking and Scottish reeling and is a keen amateur wildlife photographer. 

Cerys Nutt BA VetMB MRCVS

Cerys qualified from the University of Cambridge in 2016 and spent a year in mixed practice in Herefordshire before joining Garston in January 2018. She is currently working towards her small animal surgery certificate and particularly enjoys soft tissue surgery. In her spare time, Cerys enjoys reading, cooking, watching Wales play rugby and trying to see the sea!
