Meet the Frome Vets

John Gould

John qualified in 1995 from Cambridge University Vet School. He became a partner in the practice in 2005 and obtained his RCVS certificate in Veterinary Cardiology the same year. He is the partner in charge of the Frome Small Animal Surgery and his particular interests, as well as cardiology, are imaging and Small Animal Medicine. John is married with three children, four cats and a dog and spends his spare time walking, reading and listening to music.











Helen Harper

Helen qualified from the Royal veterinary College, London, in 1983. After working in mixed practice for 2 years she has concentrated on working in companion animal practice. Her primary interests are feline medicine and soft tissue surgery. Helen relaxes at home gardening and in the company of her husband (who is also a vet) and two cats. She likes to keep fit by hill walking and occasionally caving.

Kari Dunford

Graduating from The Royal Veterinary College London in 1995, Kari worked as an Intern at the RVC and in mixed practice in Essex prior to starting at Garston Veterinary Group in 1998, she became an Associate of the practice in 2000. Kari enjoys all aspects of small animal general practice and takes a particular interest in surgery. Kari currently works at the practice on Wednesdays and spends the rest of her time taking care of her three children. In her spare time her hobbies are running, book club and ballroom dancing!











Zoe Needs

Originally from the Tavistock area of Devon Zoe graduated from Bristol University Veterinary School in 1999. After 6 months working as a locum she joined Garston Veterinary Group in January 2000





Jenny McCaughey

Originally from County Down in Ireland, Jenny moved to the South West to attend Bristol Vet School. After graduating from there in 2010, Jenny moved to Frome and joined Garston Veterinary Group. Her interests lie in small animal medicine and surgery. In her spare time Jenny enjoys keeping fit, particularly by attending gym classes, playing badminton and countryside walking.







Andrea Gramser

Andrea qualified from The Veterinary Surgeons School at Madrid University, Spain in April 2000. After working as a resident at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and at an Owl and Wildlife rehabilitation centre she went on to work in Small Animal Private Practice, first in Madrid, then on to Alicante on the coast of Spain. When working in The Costa Blanca her clients were mainly British ex-patriots and holiday makers. This inspired her to relocate to the beautiful Somerset countryside. Her areas of interest lie in feline and avian medicine. In her spare time she loves to spend hours walking her beloved Spanish Greyhound called “Nussi” and exploring the local gastronomy and amazing landscapes.
